Pastries for Breakfast

I came across this easy yummy recipe for Jam Straws via pinterest¬†and wouldn’t you know it was already vegan.

As there appears to be a pancake strike in this household (ahem) I figured this would be a nice Sunday Breakfast treat. I used Jus-Rol Puff pastry (they label their products as to whether or not they are vegan), Waitrose essential seedless raspberry Jam and Suma organic fairtrade icing sugar. They went down a treat with all of us.

we have already come up with some variations to try:

I really struggled finding Vegan icing sugar, as most of the stuff I found was processed on lines that also handled egg etc. Was thrilled to find the Suma icing sugar! It is off white/cream, so if ever you needed icing that was a true white I would perhaps give sugarflair’s superwhite concentrated dusting powder a go. Have to say I haven’t needed to try it out yet so I’m not sure how great it is!
