KCWC Spring 2011 Day Three

Today I knitted…

I had planned to finish off the pjs today but my knitting needles had other ideas! I started this newborn soaker about a week ago and it had been sat in my knitting bag for a while just waiting for leg cuffs. I needed to get it finished so I could make a start on another pair of longies for my nephew.

The knitting pattern is Vanilla available through Ravelry for $5 and it is made from Treliske 8ply Organic Merino Wool in ‘Merle’. The contrast waistband and cuffs are made from Sublime extra fine merino DK in Mocha. I knitted in some elastic into the ribbed cuffs and waistband in the hopes that they will keep their shape during washing and wearing. I’m almost finished on my first size soakers, I just have one more recycled wool cover to make. Although I would quite like to make two of the looking glass longies in newborn size as well. Essentially I want two of each type of cover at each size! Oh dear, that’s a lot of knitting and sewing!!
