I have decided to challenge myself to the spring top sewalong this year. Basically it is a competition (hosted by Made By Rae) where the rules are you have to sew selfishly (i.e. for your self!) a top and it must be completed by the 9th May.
I had already planned on making this top for myself anyway, but figured here was a time to take a break from sewing for everyone else and make something for ME! Yay! The top is in Anna Maria Horner’s “handmade beginnings” and it is the Four Corner’s Blouse. The fabric I have chosen is Cloud 9’s Organic Cotton: Meadow and Speckle in Grass. The buttons are eco-velvet buttons in lime, made from recycled polyester and cotton fibres. There will be one adjustment that I am going to make to the top which is to add about four inches to the length. I read on another blog that their research had discovered that a few people felt the top was a little on the short side.
I guess I better get sewing!
